OFF THE GRID

1987 - 1992

In the mid 1980’s, I made some paintings that were reminiscent of action painting. I introduced drawing. II also began to use fabric in some of the paintings, an influence derived from collages that I had done  on paper.  Sometimes, the fabric was canvas itself. I moved away from the grid as a basis of composing.
